Tracey heads up our Corporate Recruitment desk which covers HR and Recruitment, Marketing and Communications, Business Support and Sales. Get to know Tracey more below:

Who are you?

Tracey or Trace.

I am lucky to call the sunny Kāpiti Coast my home. I live in Waikanae Beach with my long-term Partner, and we both have our immediate families nearby. We co-parent Pipi (a very cute bichon Shih Tzu) who often comes and stays with us, where we spend our weekends at the beach or at our local cafes.  

What do you do at Archway Recruitment?

I have the privilege of heading up our Corporate Services Division from our Wellington office. I currently work across a broad range of areas including Business Support, HR, Marketing, Communications and Sales. 

I work with all clients big or small, whether it’s private, not-for-profit, membership/professional body or Government.  

What do you do when you are not at work?

I’m an amateur surfer in summer months, a regular gym goer and more recently have taken up hot yoga. I love a social gathering with friends or hanging out at one of our locals. We are currently in the process of designing our next dream home in Waikanae.

How many candidates on average do you interview a month?  

It can depend on the month – you start to lose count. At a guess….25.

If you could give a candidate one piece of advice what would it be?

One piece of advice I’d give to any candidate going through the interview process is to really think of some concrete examples that demonstrate their relevance for the role (skills, abilities, and experience) – going back to basics of the STAR technique.  

If you could give a client one piece of advice what would it be?

I enjoy partnering with my clients and establishing long-term relationships that are more than just a transaction. Use me to my full potential! I’m here not only to find you great people but to give advice, test your thinking and ensure the process is robust. 

Tell us something we don’t already know about you – do you have a hidden talent?

It’s not really a hidden talent, but it is unusual – I sneeze when I’ve eaten too much!  

Is this your second career? What was your first? 

I come from an office support background where I grew from Team Admin to Executive Assistant to Office Manager – naturally I enjoy working in the Corporate Services space.   

If you could be a superhero, who would you be?  

I took a quiz to figure this answer out! Spiders are my least favourite thing, yet I’m most like Spider-Man – fearless, agile and a faithful ally. Speed also works in my favour.
